The completion of the Union Station Transit Center on May 9, 2014 has brought multiple elements of transit under one roof in the heart of downtown Denver. A true multi-modal hub, you can hop on one of many RTD services to get where you’re going.
The California Zephyr line runs through the heart of Denver with a stop at Denver Union Station. Other stops on this line include Chicago, Omaha, Salt Lake City, Oakland
RTD Free MetroRide
The Free MetroRide is the perfect option for downtown commuters, providing quick and easy trips between Civic Center and Union Station during peak rush hours. The new service has uniquely branded buses that are easy to identify on 18th and 19th streets.
RTD Free MallRide
The Free MallRide has been giving free rides up and down the 16th Street Mall since 1982, and carries more than 13 million passengers a year. The Free MallRide provides easy access to Union Station and the underground bus concourse.
RTD Light Rail
The rail station at Union Station was relocated in 2012 as the first part of the transit transformation happening downtown. The rail station on Chestnut Street provides the end-of-line station for the C, E and W lines.
